The South Shore Kings NCDC are  excited to announce '02 Defenseman Nolan Hayes has committed to Sacred Heart University for the fall of 2022!

Hayes (Boston, MA), is in his first season with the Kings NCDC. Nolan played for the '02 Kings growing up and then went on to play at Thayer Academy and then Cushing Academy. In 34 games for the Kings this season, Hayes has recorded 9 goals and 11 assists for 20 points. He leads the NCDC with 5 powerplay goals for defenseman.

"I'm beyond excited to commit to Sacred Heart University. The coaches, the hockey program and everything I have heard from friends that go there made it an easy decision for me especially with the new facility being built. My time with the South Shore Kings this season has been great. We have a really close team that battled adversity early on in the season. We also have two of the best coaches I believe the league has to offer. Both Coach Omicioli and Coach Holske went above and beyond in helping me with the college process."

I am so proud of the opportunity to commit to Sacred Heart University for the 2022-2023 season. My goal has always been to play for a great NCAA Division 1 program and today this has become a reality. I am so grateful for the outstanding coaching staff of SHU for giving me this opportunity and for being part of what the future of Sacred Heart Hockey will become in the upcoming years. I want to thank my teammates and Coach Omicioli and Coach Holske with the South Shore Kings for assisting in me getting to my ultimate goal. I look forward to my future endeavor with the Pioneers and thanks again to my  South Shore Kings players and coaches for everything you have done for me this year.

"Nolan was a player that we recruited heavily in the previous year and when we finally had the chance to have him part of the team he surpassed our expectations. I can remember Tyler (Holske) telling me about him as a player in year 1,and Holske's willingness to pursue him as a player ended up landed him as an eventual King. Nolan has been an impact player from day 1 scoring 2 goals in his debut against the Junior Bruins until his incredible performance yesterday against the Thunder. Nolan for me is a steady defenseman in all zones, but has the ability to take over a game and control the outcome of a game with his intuition and ability to alleviate pressure and make a scoring opportunity out of nothing. SHU and Nolan Congrats!!!"

The entire Kings organization would like to congratulate Nolan and his family on this outstanding accomplishment!
