About Us

The South Shore Kings

The South Shore Kings have had a tradition of AAA hockey excellence for over 25 years and we are proud to be one of the founding members of the new Eastern Hockey Federation, the most competitive youth hockey league in the United States.

The Kings have an ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of coaching available in New England with a program that is rigorous in preparation for High School and College Hockey. Kings players are prominent and much sought after members of top level high school and college programs throughout the Boston area.

Visit our ALUMNI PAGE for examples of South Shore Kings players achievements. Local high school coaches know that Kings are skilled, motivated, and team oriented.  Our hockey program offers a higher level of hockey other than your local high school or prep school.

 Skill Development:
We enhance their skills in a tough, but positive environment.  On ice the players will be taught with high-speed drills and system work.  Off the ice the focus will be films and chalk talk of how the game of hockey should be played.

Education:
We would like to challenge each player on the ice as well as in the classroom.  All players who have graduated from their High/Prep School are encouraged to enroll in college courses.  Younger players will be aided with the preparation they need for tests such as the SAT's or ACT's.

 Recruiting Exposure:
Great leagues such as the EJHL and the Empire Junior B leagues help in recruiting, since scouts will see these players in a different atmosphere than previous years.  Higher levels of competition found in these leagues will bring the best out of each player.

 Placement:
The primary purpose of the South South Kings Junior Program's will be to place our players into Division I or III college/university hockey programs.  We promote players to the best of their ability and help them soar into the next level of their hockey career.

 Off Ice Conditioning:
The South Shore Kings Junior program offers 7.5 hours of On Ice Training every week during the season.  Additionally, all of our players will be required to participate in our Off Ice program approximately 3 hours per week.  This portion of our program consists of a weight/strength training program as well as plyometrics.  Players selected by us are required to work out in the off-season and it will be expected to continue the program throughout the entire year.

EDGE PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS
Every player will have access to the EDGE PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS (EPS) gym/fitness center that is located inside the Foxboro Sports Center, a brand new state of the art facility located in the heart of New England.  The fitness center is available to all of our athletes.  It has free weights, weight machines and an assortment of cardio equipment, plyometric equipment, core and resistance training apparatus and turf for shuttle runs.  EPS is committed to maximizing performance and reducing the potential for injury through comprehensive training programs that enhance flexibility, core strength, increase explosive power and improve agility and speed in athletes.

The EPS strength and conditioning staff at the Foxboro Sports Center is headed up by Brian McDonough and Eric Lundquist.  The staff has over 12 years experience working with a wide variety of individuals, including: recreational athletes, fitness enthusiasts, elite high school and college athletes, NFL and AHL players.
